Seven companies submitted bids for the construction of Terminal 3 of the Tancredo Neves International Airport (Confins), which seek to expand capacity by more than 4.8 million passengers per year. The proposals are between R$ 79 million and R$ 179 million, values far above what was expected by the Brazilian Port Infrastructure (Infraero), who has requested a reduction of the proposals.
The RV, winning company, reduced its proposed R$ 80 million to R$ 65.79 million, but still the amount is beyond what Infraero want to shell out. The state also requested a discount of 35%, equivalent to R$ 23 million, but the RV has already announced that it would only be possible to a discount of 8.8% (R$ 5.81 million), a figure four times smaller than that requested by Infraero.
Infraero again requested a discount of 28%, reaching R$ 47.37 million, a value R$ 4.6 million higher than expected by Infraero and R$ 12.6 million below the amount charged by RV last proposal.
The RV has requested a deadline of 48 hours to say whether or not to accept.
The press office of Infraero, through Differentiated Procurement Regime (DRC) announced that the bidding is still open and only closes when the two companies reached an agreement. If the RV does not reach an agreement with Infraero, placed second in the bidding, the company Sial Construtora, will be referred to the dispute.
