Airport Varginha, Minas Gerais, was visited by two architects of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) on Tuesday (26) with the aim of making a survey of the conditions of the infrastructure of the site.
The action is part of a project to be delivered by the end of April, seeking the release of funds for the renovation of the airport for later this year.
The proposal is that the airport infrastructure fits with the pattern of regional airports, expanding its runway takeoffs and landings to receive even bigger flights.
According to information from airport management, the works are expected to start in June and finish by the end of the year.
The funds will be released by the Federal Government as a measure to improve the nation’s infrastructure to get the World Cup in 2014. Two more Minas Gerais airports will be visited by architects. One located in the city of Pouso Alegre and the other in Caxambu.
